Etsy update & more...

I feel like I've been away from this little blog for way too long. I never realized how much I like to write. (Maybe it isn't so much write as it is to talk to you all - I am talking in my head as I'm typing these words to you my online friends - you do that too right? I'm not just a crazy lady here, right?!) And for anyone that hasn't posted on the new blog yet because you had to have a google account...I found the place to remove this option. So now you can all comment! yeah!

Etsy update...I've been making lots of fun stuff lately. To the left you'll see a fun scraps bag I made for a fellow Ashland University graduate. I love mixing up the fabrics. This week I pulled out all of the fabric I have and attempted to organize them. Logged everything into excel and now I'm feeling a bit more organized. Does anyone know of a really good way to store fabric? I was thinking possibly a large clear rubbermaid type tote but wasn't sure if there was something more appropriate (and cuter). In other etsy news, I created this growth cart for a past LALR attendee. She home schools her kids and plans to use this in the classroom. She also told me that she put each of her kids name on a magnet and using a second magnet from the back. That way they don't actually have to write on the board to indicate their current height. Great idea Ms. Hulet.

In other news, we had a great Easter celebration (picture here is of James, Jameson, Jeb and Jonas eating breakfast while Abby & I got the little ones checked in. Jameson recently let me know that Jeb is his best friend. So cute!). The service at FCC was awesome. Greg did a great job of coming at the message from a different angle (listen here). I'm sure there were lots of decisions made that day. I'm getting real excited about the new addition at church. I can't wait to see all the new faces that will be coming through the doors in the coming years. We're back to our Wednesday morning bible study, however today we missed it. The little man got sick as we were driving out of the development. Oh how I love cleaning all of that up. I was thinking about it actually as I was driving back down our nice curvy road. Why would God give me a child that gets sick so much since I gage so easily and almost get sick every time I smell it? The real blessing is that for some reason when it is Jameson, I don't feel sick at all. Just go to my mommy duty and clean it up and then move onto the next task. I can find blessings in the most uncommon areas - yeah for creativity, right?! Or maybe just my way of staying sane?

Jameson got a fun bubble machine in his Easter basket. It is the absolute best bubble machine. Here is a fun pictures of the two of us playing. Seriously, it is the best bubble machine. Tonight Aunt Sandy, Nat & Jules came over for dinner. They were all playing with it. Funny story about the girls. After they'd been here for at least 30 minutes. Jameson pointed at them and said "where tee other one?" Meaning where is Ria, I just realized she wasn't here. So funny that he is so used to seeing all 3 of them together it was very strange to him that she wasn't here.

One last fun story to share with everyone. This evening while I was getting things ready for dinner. I heard a very odd sound outside, somewhat like metal scrapping against a chalkboard. Not a normal, nice sound. I ran to the front door to find this site. James and Jameson on the golf cart half laughing/half crying (Jameson was the only crier). Apparently someone hit the gas petal while someone else turned the wheel too far one way. They ran over all 4 of the metal things in the middle of the driveway, broke a fog light and overall wrecked the golf cart - it is still drive able though & the hubby was smiling!. A fun ending to our Wednesday!

Easter celebrations are in full swing at our house! Add to that an awesome day of 75 degree sunny weather and we're a very happy group! Jameson got some fun packages this week. We even colored eggs (which he calls eggies). It was fun to see him be so creative.
For those of you that read the blog through a feed...you may not notice the slideshow to the right. I'll be adding another one of pictures. Let me know what you think.
And I leave you with a verse... "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25-26

Outstanding day...

Wow is all I can say about the day that we've had today. Feeling blessed and so appreciative. First thing this morning, before I'd even showered?! I got the call that we had a buyer for LALR (more details to follow in the coming weeks). From there we went to church for manic music time. Abby does such a great job, even totally pregnant - I was almost afraid she wasn't going to make it today but instead be at the hospital. Happy to report she is doing great and entertained the kiddos with her moves. From there we went to chick-flay (as Jameson calls it) and then to the consignment sale to pick up the items that hadn't sold. I was pretty happy with the amount that did sell - yeah for cleaning out and making some money too. This afternoon we found something fun for Jameson - left handed golf clubs. He really enjoys hitting around. And yes he has on goggles in this pictures. Not sure why he likes to wear them but he does and it is so HIM.

I also wanted to share with you some pictures of my updated office. I am excited to share with you my alphabet storage solution. Plastic containers from ikea. One for each letter. They are about 4.5 x 3 each and fit nicely into one locker in my room. I do not plan to take them with me when I scrapbook away from home and I'm okay with that. The second picture is of my new chair and pillows; also from ikea. Excuse the shoes - I'm keepin' it real as this is how it usually looks. So love this store. The colors in these items make me smile!

On another note, I'm thoroughly enjoying an online Bible study by Rachel Olsen. She is awesome about relating the women of the Bible to present day. Here is a piece of the post from yesterday. "Part of the intrigue of the Bible is frequently it doesn’t give us all the details… explain all the motives… or provide all the answers. It can leaves us pondering and questioning – and hopefully trusting God nonetheless. Although it was God’s will for Jacob rather than Esau to get the blessing and birthright, God did not force or even persuade Rebekah to deceive anyone or do anything immoral. That was her choice, her actions. Every woman has the God-given ability to choose what she will or will not do - theologians call this having "free will." We might expect God to only use women's moral actions, but the reality is God also uses the immoral actions of women (and men) to advance His ultimate will." Join me for the next 5 weeks (we started last week so there is plenty of time to get up to speed). I'm totally loving this study.

Recent pics...

I don't have much time to write much but I wanted to post some pictures...
Easter egg hunt at church yesterday.
Jameson and AH shopping a few weeks ago. They were so cute in their matching shirts! We had the best salesmen at the Gap. He was so patient with our BOYS.

Chalk art in our driveway. Even James added in on the fun.

Jameson chasing the ducks while in Buckhead. He wasn't very nice toward the end. Amazing how unafraid he was of these ducks. Thanks again Erica & Luke...we had a great time seeing you both!

Now we're heading back outside to enjoy the awesome weather.

This is going to be super quick as we're in Atlanta visiting some friends and enjoying the awesome spring weather. A while ago I'd mentioned to a few of you about the fabulous school days scrapbooking kit that I'd gotten. Well they are taking pre-order to make more. Go here to learn more!

I'll be back with some fun pictures sometime over the weekend!

Winners!

Thank you to my four friends that commented on the first post. Since this is my blog and I make the rules, I've decided that all four of you are winners for the little giveaway. So to these friends, be on the lookout for something fun coming to your mailbox!

In other news, today has been a captive at home day for us. The little man had quite a Tuesday. It started with a bad night of sleep, lots of coughing keeping all of us awake (well not so much me since I sleep like a rock). I took him to school. Picking him up was the mortifying moment. I was in the carpool line and Mel-Mel brought him out to the car. He started coughing and then threw up on her (luckily mainly only her hand but still it was gross). We got it all cleaned up and we drove home. I called the doc to see if we should come in. They listened to him over the phone and said, yes. We got there and he had fallen asleep in the car on the way there. He started to wake so I got out to take him and yup he started coughing again and threw up all over (cleaning the car seat has become a hobby of mine-NOT). So the fun part about this incident was that we didn't have extra clothes so he went in with just boxers on. And since he is a part-time exhibitionist (kidding) he didn't mind a bit. We found out that his sinus infection from a couple of weeks ago hadn't totally gone away. Second round of meds for him. They do seem to be working though as he hasn't really been coughing as much today. We've been keeping busy in the kitchen (my attempt to keep him from running around too much which seems to make the coughing worse). We pureed squash and beets (quite fun to make but oh gosh it was a good thing I already had on a red shirt). Not sure which recipe we'll be trying from the deceptively delicious but I'm hoping it will be yummy.

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Night waker...

We've officially crossed over to the phase of personal identity. Jameson wants to pick out his own clothes...including shoes and hat. The hat pictured here, oh yeah that is part of a cars costume from Halloween. He loves it and wears it in the exact same position periodically. And the shoes, yes he insists on wearing crazy rain boots instead of the trusty crocs. He even wore them last night when we went out to dinner. Picture this, proper James with mix matched Jameson eating sushi. Such a good reminder that we can only control certain things and this my friends is not a battle we're choosing to fight.

Okay as many of you know, our son is not the best sleeper. He typically wakes up a few times each night. When he was still in the crib and I would have to go up to settle him or even after he was first in his toddler bed, I can remember being on the phone with a friend between 11-12 and he would cry for me or come walking down the steps. Well tonight I was sitting in the living room on the computer and I heard his feet hit the floor. He starts down the steps and in the sweetest voice, "Momma, I come see you for a minute". He came down, gave me a hug and went back up to bed. How sweet is that?

Welcome!

Yeah we have a new blog and I think I'm really going to enjoy posting here. I now have the ability to change the top image, add slideshows and videos right into the message. Yeah. Now doesn't that make YOU excited too?

This morning Jameson & I had fun creating a little Easter eye candy. (Inspired by Ali) We made bunnies, eggs and baskets to hang from the light in the dining room. I think they look so cute and springy. After we started hanging them, Jameson wanted to know where the butterflies were like Ali had used. So cute that he remembered. Now the task of keeping them from getting shot or pulling them down before Easter.

Something else fun to share...kisses from a doggie (James wanted to know if it would clean showers?!)

To thank everyone for moving over to the new blog, please leave me a comment by Tuesday (3/11) at 2:00 pm and I'll mail the winner a little scrapbooking surprise (even if you don't think you're crafty, I'm sure I can find something you'll enjoy). Let me know if you made your way here from my previous blog or another way. Thanks!
