Winner!

We have a winner...Sphinx63 (I sent you an email so hopefully we can get the kit to you today)! Jameson & I were dressed as firemen. He had fun pretending to spray off things and best of all we took pictures!

The last 24 - 48 hours have been almost a blur for our family. Mostly good but just overall fast paced. This morning Jameson & I left the house at 8:30 we were on the run until about 4:30 and then after a quick change over at the house we left again and didn't get back until almost 10. In the mix we go to strawberry picking with Sarah and her kiddos. The berries are so perfectly ripe now! This evening James helped out the Carr's with their new yard. A few other friends from church stopped by and it was a nice evening with friends. The real downer the last couple of days has been that Deacon has been sick. That means lots of messed for James & me to clean up around the house. Jameson & I took him to the vet today and they gave him a shot and we're changing his food so hopefully that will fix things.

This weekend Mother Crill & Joe are coming in along with lots of other Luers family. It will be a good weekend! I'll be posting pictures sometime next week. To stay more current, feel free to follow me through the twitter box on the sidebar of the blog.

Congrats again to sphinx63, I apologize for not finalizing the giveaway until now.

August Desktop!

Okay so I mentioned a few days ago that SugarPlum Paperie was celebrating their 1 year anniversary. Nicole has been giving away freebies for 6 days (she is always so generous - and her stuff is awesome!). For the seventh day a few of us on the creative team are contributing. I created a desktop using some of the items that Nicole is giving away for the birthday celebration. Click here to download the desktop files. Here are samples of them. There are 4 included. One and two photo slots as well as regular desktop size and wide screen.

I hope you enjoy them!

For those of you that have dabbled in the digital scrapbooking you'll know how to use these (the zip file includes .psd files). For my friends & family that aren't familiar, leave me a comment or drop me an email and I'll try to help you out.

Seriously?

Is it seriously already almost Thursday which means it is almost Memorial Day Weekend? Which also means that the Grey's Anatomy season finale is in less then 24 hours? Seriously? I just don't know where the time goes. We had a whirlwind Saturday and it really hasn't slowed down much from there. Early Saturday we got up and as a family participated in an event coordinated through church called SHINE. It was a community wide service project. We delivered donated food to the local food bank and helped sort it. I pray that Jameson grows up to have a giving heart, that would warm my heart and I'm sure it would be pleasing to God too. Straight from the food bank we headed to Georgia for a fun birthday party for Aubrey. These two little guys are such good friends. They play so nicely together.

After returning home to change clothes, get a refill on juice we headed back out to work on our garden. Now that was an adventure! The ground here is basically clay so we knew it was going to be tough. James said it was rock hard on the surface but once he got through that layer it was really soft. So we planted seeds and topped them with manure mixed top soil. Yes we were playing with boop (now that is something I never would have thought I would have been doing). Here is a picture of the garden at the end of the day.

So yesterday I was a lucky girl who got to talk to Shari who has moved to Germany. While I was chatting away I heard, crash. Oh yes we've now turned the corner into the world of broken glass from a thrown ball. He cracked the glass on one of the pictures in the hallway. No one was hurt and the little guy said, "but I didn't mean to do it". And of course the scrapbooker in my had to take a picture of it. See...

Daily I read an email devotional from Proverbs 31, which today was written by Amy Carroll. The closing prayer said "Dear Lord, sometimes I don’t understand your timing. It’s often very hard to wait, but I trust You. I want to rely on Your ways and Your timing. Help me to learn what I need to learn as I wait. In Jesus’ name, Amen." Such a great reminder that He is in control and that everything happens in His timing, we just have to have faith.

Okay now for a fun little game. We took a trip to Sams today to stock up on some stuff, which included pictures. So here is the game, guess what our total bill was. What is in it for you, besides the fun of guessing? Scrapbook supplies from Scrapping Buckeyes. Now if you're not a scrapbooker, maybe I'll create something for you with the supplies?! No limit to the number of guesses, winner must reside in either the US or Canada. If we don't have a winner by Friday evening, I'll pick the person that guesses closest. What is your guess on our summer stock up from Sams.

*Edited to add that the guessing is closed now**

Winners!

Thank you to my four friends that commented on the first post. Since this is my blog and I make the rules, I've decided that all four of you are winners for the little giveaway. So to these friends, be on the lookout for something fun coming to your mailbox!

In other news, today has been a captive at home day for us. The little man had quite a Tuesday. It started with a bad night of sleep, lots of coughing keeping all of us awake (well not so much me since I sleep like a rock). I took him to school. Picking him up was the mortifying moment. I was in the carpool line and Mel-Mel brought him out to the car. He started coughing and then threw up on her (luckily mainly only her hand but still it was gross). We got it all cleaned up and we drove home. I called the doc to see if we should come in. They listened to him over the phone and said, yes. We got there and he had fallen asleep in the car on the way there. He started to wake so I got out to take him and yup he started coughing again and threw up all over (cleaning the car seat has become a hobby of mine-NOT). So the fun part about this incident was that we didn't have extra clothes so he went in with just boxers on. And since he is a part-time exhibitionist (kidding) he didn't mind a bit. We found out that his sinus infection from a couple of weeks ago hadn't totally gone away. Second round of meds for him. They do seem to be working though as he hasn't really been coughing as much today. We've been keeping busy in the kitchen (my attempt to keep him from running around too much which seems to make the coughing worse). We pureed squash and beets (quite fun to make but oh gosh it was a good thing I already had on a red shirt). Not sure which recipe we'll be trying from the deceptively delicious but I'm hoping it will be yummy.

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Welcome!

Yeah we have a new blog and I think I'm really going to enjoy posting here. I now have the ability to change the top image, add slideshows and videos right into the message. Yeah. Now doesn't that make YOU excited too?

This morning Jameson & I had fun creating a little Easter eye candy. (Inspired by Ali) We made bunnies, eggs and baskets to hang from the light in the dining room. I think they look so cute and springy. After we started hanging them, Jameson wanted to know where the butterflies were like Ali had used. So cute that he remembered. Now the task of keeping them from getting shot or pulling them down before Easter.

Something else fun to share...kisses from a doggie (James wanted to know if it would clean showers?!)

To thank everyone for moving over to the new blog, please leave me a comment by Tuesday (3/11) at 2:00 pm and I'll mail the winner a little scrapbooking surprise (even if you don't think you're crafty, I'm sure I can find something you'll enjoy). Let me know if you made your way here from my previous blog or another way. Thanks!
